Short Round Up

October 23, 2007, Filed under: Core Posts — @ 7:44 pm

In summary, a short round up of various points

  • DC is boring me. Death on such a wholesale overt slaughter popular characters for their SHOCKING return in 2008 is well beyond the point of wearing thin.
  • Marvel. Still doing zombies? Really? Call me when it’s vampires. Oh you know you want to make every Marvel character into a vampire. Teeth! Capes! Plus, yo’ve already done a Dracula comic back in the day.
  • Dark Horse. Dude! You have product placement in Hellgate:London and you made a pretty graphic novel to go with the game.
  • Speaking of HellGate London, I’m in the beta, and I just got to say that being able to create a short stocky female military character who’s wearing body length armour equivalent to her male counterpart is well appreciated. Props for the three female character classes who are equally well dressed as the male equivalents.
    • Boo for the female swordswoman wearing the same kilt-esque armour and the flesh coloured trousers. It’s almost like they left the cloth texture and just skin toned it
    • Boo for the male character where they did just colour tone the skin to look like a shirt. What? No shirtless male demon slayers? The female equivalent class is wearing a bikini, and the male version should be shirtless judging by everything but the skin tone.
  • It’s end of season at the day job. There are going to be long delays for responses to posts. I may even slow down with the updates (he said, posting twice in a night)
  • Dumbledore is gay? Who knew? Oh, apparently the AUTHOR did. Plus there was that scene where he makes out with Snape.
    • Just as an aside: When radical Christian movements are decrying the outing of Dumbledore because it means OMG! A GAY CHARACTER! they might want to remember that they’re not supposed to know about that chap from the evil book about magic what is turning us all to sin
    • PS. Malfoy to be outed next. Lucius that is, not Draco.
  • Data update. Analysis and write up well underway, and the reports from the DS Survey 1 will be up soon, with the added bonus of having a fresh data collection for contentious points from the study. So, when the usual cast of male bloggers whine about the results, you can just damn well go out and get people to fill out the data collection for me if you want to prove your case. I have numbers, I’ll be challenging you to find numbers to beat mine, and to make it fair, we’ll even use the same parts from the survey.
