I really wish I wasn’t ever in a position to be able to mention Peter Parker and radioactive body fluids. But, courtesy of Marvel, now we have that as canon, and not only as canon, as a canon method of killing a female cast member* in a universe where mere exposure to radiation makes you a superhero, not a corpse.
After all, a transfusion of radioactive blood created She Hulk. Why wouldn’t a transfusion of…oh god. Just kill me now. I can’t believe that someone at Marvel pitched this, and it got approved.
I’m calling for a continuity reboot for reality for the year 2007. All those in favour?
*Insofar as a dead offscreen character and a grave makes you a cast member. Should I say “Member of established continuity” instead?
Betty Brant also ended up with radiation poisoning from proximity to the Hulk.
However, it’s not canon. Spider-Man: Reign isn’t canonical. It’s one of those alterniverse type things, to my understanding. And so much the better. Because hell, kissing him with his spider-saliva should’ve done it before…you know.
At least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Didn’t Lex Luthor get radiation poisoning from all that damned kyptonite?
And didn’t Betty Ross die from radiation in one universe or another?
Indigo & David – Good points, but taking this from http://www.marvel.com/universe/Ross-Banner%2C_Betty
So in other words – she got better.
Luthor was also similarly non fatally killed by his exposure to the radiation (two clones and a deal with the devil later, but still, non fatal).
In conclusions, spider sperm should have provided little more than a superpower child or some serious tingly sensations. (What? Spidersenses are all about the tingly moments).

By canon, I meant “Published by the owner of the franchise”. Whether it’s canon to the mainstream or elseworlds or whatever, Marvel still stuck their seal of approval. Someone, somewhere thought radioactive sperm was a good idea.
